Great Site! Yesterday all I knew was my great grandparent names and today I know my whole family history. My dad, Glen "BUD" L. KELLEY, Jr., was born and raised in Shawmut. He died in October 1999. I very interested in hearing from anyone who may have known him. He was 48 when I was born and would like to find out more about his first 48 years. I know he was good friends with the Mayor of Delight. I met him when he visited dad in the hospital, but I can't remember his name. He also was good friends with Charles Avery. If you knew BUD KELLEY please send me an e-mail. Thank you.

Enjoyed the site very much. Was referred by a "double cousin" with Pike County connections. The Westerman family was not mentioned in the Corinth Story, but they, too, were in Bedford Co. TN at one time. After they left Bedford Co., moving westward to Perry Co and Decatur Co., some of them had 1000 acres of land each. One family was located on the Buffalo River there. One was on the road to Nashville and the rest had land that went into the waters of the Tennessee River. There are many familiar names here other than Westerman including Huddleston, Alford,Coker, Harris, Henderson, Lingo, Fugate. Yerby Lingo was a neighbor of some of the Westermans back in Tenn. as well as at Nathan in Pike County. The other names I mentioned came from marriages. Thanks for a nice site. Will look forward to new info.

I was doing some research with the data base, and would like to correct a few errors I found. In the Jacksons; Betty (spelled Bettye) Jackson did not get married in 1965, altho she did get married in Idabel, Ok.. I called her and she is sending me the correct information. She did marry Luther Rector Woodruff, they have 3 children, the child listed is the second born. In the Woodruff database; Luther Rectors father is listed as Franklin Fay Mayben. Clara Meliese stokes married Luther Calvin Woodruff, and he is the father of all of Clara Meliese Woodruff's children. L.R. (Luther Rector) and Bettye Jackson Woodruff are my sister and brother in law. She is sending all of the corrected information to me and I will forward it to you as soon as I get it. Mr. and Mrs Woodruff have died, but all of their children are living so the corrected file for the most part will be private. Thanks Jan

I was very happy to find your site. Many of my League relatives are listed; especially Clearview Cemetery listings. My daughter, Beth Harvey Phillips is listed as well as my granddaughter. My granddaughter is listed as Mary Elizabeth Phillips but her name is Meryl Elizabeth Phillips. Another correction, My grandmother is listed as Emma Smith who married Thomas C. League; to my knowledge her name was Emmie not Emma. Also I thought that my grandfather's middle name was Coskery-- Thomas Coskery or Coskrey League. I appreciated the information on Creighton League. I notice you didn't have the year in which he died. I would like to find this out, if you should happen to have this information. Thank you so much. I noticed in your posts, the name Alex Alford. Our grandma was Elizabeth (Eliza)Jane Alford, who married Richard Henry Lee Hignight in 1889. Eliza was born Feb. 1873, died June 1955. Their children were, Thomas,Alexander,Oscar, Ida Pearl,Rosie Belle & Alice Lee. Rosie is our Mother...born in Ashdown, Ark. In your 'Pictures' in your Ark. Connection, you have a picture of Tom,Alex,Oscar & Pearl Hignight when they were kids. Our mom never spoke of her family, except that her mom's maiden name was Alford. Anyone that can help us find Eliza's mom & dad, would really be appreciated. Mama Rosie married Benjamin Harrison Dollins, and lived in Paris,Tx Lamar Co. from the time they married Aug.25,1917 in Antlers, OK. Eliza divorced R.H.L. Hignight, and married Richard (Dick)Timberlake in 1916, as Recorded in the Paris,Co.Seat Marriage Records. We are so impressed with your layout, pictures, and info on your "Arkansas Connection." Especially Eliza Jane's 4 little Munchkins! James & Marianne Dollins

I am looking for any relatives of a William Dobyns born December 21, 1907 or 1908 in Mississippi County Arkansas (I think). He has been with my dad, who is originally from Kentucky, since around the 1950's until his death on December 19,1998. William had mentioned of being in Illinois at one time and getting married and having 2 children but that is all he ever said. We know nothing about his life, his family or even how or why they got seperated, but would love to find them. If anyone knows anything about him or any family members I would love to hear from you. Thank you

This is my first visit to your site. I did find info on some of my line and I plan to return again. You do have a nice site and good links to other data. I am researching tons of names, including the following (not all of these were from Arkansas): BELCHER, HOYLE, SOUTHERLAND, on my father's side. Paternal Grandmother was Ethel Candace Hoyle, married to McEwen (sp) Belcher est. 1893 or prior. He died in 1909 and is buried in Oakman Cemetery in Oklahoma. She remarried to Jonathan VOYLES in 1911. Can't find ANYTHING on Grampa Belcher before he married her. He was born in Henderson County, Texas about 1850. If anyone knows anything about him, please email me. Also researching JONES, WHISNANT, CRUMP on my mother's side. Also, Margaret Mahalia (?), first wife of a Mr. Whisnant (est.1845) and later married to Zacharriah M. PETTIT (1865). She had 6 known children by Whisnant and at least one by Pettitt.

This website has been so helpful in assiting me to fill in gaps on my Henderson Family research. Thank you for providing this information. How can I update your records with information on our line here in SC? Also, I believe that I spotted one typo. William C. Henderson - according to my records was likely born in 1819 not 1829. With a marriage date listed as 1842 - I think that it is unlikely that he married at age 13. My grandfather was Oscar mann Henderson. I can update your records on his children. Thanks again for this SUPER wealth of information! GREAT WORK!!!

I'm a descendant of Capt. George Bowen, an English Sea Captain who was raised in the West Indies, according to family papers, married in Charleston,S.C., died and buried in Charleston. His only surviving child was George Bowen who married Maria Tabitha Conant, moved to Laurens County,S.C. where he purchased a plantation in Waterloo,S.C., later they purchased a plantation in Mississippi where they lived, died and are buried. I am attempting to locate the parents of the immigrant Captain George Bowen, but so far have not had very much success. I keep HOPING though that SOMEONE will know something. Great website. Looking for information on the Garner's of Amity Arkansas and Williams. My Greatgrandfather is L. Garner and Married Grace Williams. They had seven children. My greatgrandfather died at an early age in an accident at work where he was pulled through a paper machine. And my greatgrandmother, Alice Garner passed away about 5 years ago on Valentine's day. If you have any information on this family I would be very interested to hear from you.

Should anyone be interested, I have Sterling's father John's Family Bible and information on his siblings, et al. My email is rosalind@strato.net.
